How to look after your new ink in the sun...

Although it's not here in the UK yet, when Summer arrives, it's crucial to do everything possible to care for your new tattoo!


Adhere to these steps to keep your tattoo looking vibrant...

Avoid Direct Sunlight


Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight for at least 3-4 weeks while it’s in the healing phase. This is to prevent fading and irritation.

Apply Suncream


Regularly apply suncream or sunblock. The higher the SPF, the better. Apply generously and cover the tattoo thoroughly!

Cover Up


When possible, cover your tattoo with clothing to shield it from the sun. Choose lightweight fabrics that won’t cause irritation.

Stay Hydrated


Keeping your skin hydrated from the inside out helps with overall skin health and healing. Drink plenty of water!

Moisturise


Apply Butterluxe Tattoo Balm (which can be found in our aftercare bundles) often and in thin layers. You can purchase this product here at the studio!

Avoid Swimming


Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or oceans, as the chemicals and salt can irritate the tattoo and increase the risk of infection.
